Do You Need a Permit for a West Maui Beach Wedding?

Hawaiʻi DLNR explains that commercial beach weddings on unencumbered State shorelines use the Wiki Permits process. The agency also makes an important clarification: even if a beach is located within or next to a county park, the sandy shoreline can still be under State jurisdiction.  

In other words:

A county beach park does not automatically mean the county controls the sand.

For a commercial beach wedding, couples and wedding professionals should verify:
